About

A planning tool that shows its work

Renolume exists because homeowners are asked to make five-figure decisions using national average headline numbers produced by companies that sell leads.

What we build

Renolume models a renovation project the way an estimator would: a fixed task library per project type, quantities derived from your inputs, labour hours from published productivity rates, wages from government wage series for your area, materials from published indices, and conditional rules for the things that actually move a price — pitch, access, storey height, tear-off layers, permit thresholds.

The output is a range, a scope list, a timeline and a confidence score. Not a quote, and never a single number pretending to be certain.

Who it is for

  • Homeowners deciding whether a project is affordable before they call anyone.
  • People holding two or three bids who want to know what the work actually contains.
  • DIY-capable owners deciding which phases to take on and which to hire out.

What we will not do

  • Sell your details. Renolume is not a lead-generation business dressed as a calculator.
  • Match you to contractors. No referral fees means no incentive to shape your number.
  • Show a single price. A single number is a marketing device, not an estimate.
  • Hide uncertainty. When our inputs are thin, the estimate says so, loudly.

Where we are today

Renolume launched with three fully modelled project types — roof replacement, deck build and window replacement — across US metro wage samples, with state averages elsewhere. The engine is built to be region-agnostic, so additional projects and countries are a data exercise, not a rebuild.
